Assalamualaikum and Salam Satu Malaysia.
Alhamdulillah... This is the 4th week and on 2nd October,, that is my first workshop, that was conducted by En. Redzuan. We Sec. 2 student start our class around 10am, and the other sec. start their class at 8am, and this time table will rotate every week because En. Redzuan need to be fair to both section.
Okay, the first thing is when we enter the workshop that is above DK4, we feel quite surprise when Dr. Kamal is waiting for us. Actually Dr. Kamal only want to brief us about this reflective journal in details, as a lot of us still dont know which journal should be email to him, and when. In more simple words, Dr. Kamal brief us once again about this assignment of journal from 'A to Z'. Before he brief us, he distributed 6 set of paper that conclude everything about reflective journal assignment. He tell us about what exactly he want from our reflective journal, how to write a very good reflective journal, and about the overall assessment criteria. After listening to Dr. Kamal precious advice about the assignment, i think i really need to improve and be more creative and precise about this reflective journal, but never mind past is past and lets move forward.
After 15 minutes pass, Dr Kamal finished his brief about the reflective journal and Mr. Redzuan take over the workshop and I felt really anxious about what will we learn in Multisim. Its really fascinating u know, to know that this kind of software exist! hahaha...
First, En. Redzuan introduce the Multisim software, i mean what is the function of this software. The class was superb because Mr. Redzuan have his own strategy on teaching how to use this software. First we need to watch and observe carefully how this software work up, so that we understand each icon in this software and what are those icon mean. Mr. Redzuan really good and expert about this software as he explains all those things in a correct sequences and its really easy to understand. Mr. Redzuan also said, "In everything we do, we must be organise so that we will not miss any important point."(to me, that's really a good tips for beginner like me).
Lets watch this basic things about this Multisim 11.0...(The same multisim software version that is used by En. Redzuan to teach us)
Interesting right....
During this period, everyone seems to be really focus in this class as this is the first time for us previous students from matriculation and foundation using this multisim software. Unlike those previous diploma students, they already know a lot of things about this software. That is probably the biggest advantage of all, for diploma previous diploma students and because of that, Mr. Redzuan giving all of them 'privilege' to tutor us and correct our mistake. Almost all of us making mistake at the first time.(Well, almost all first time experience start with mistake, hahaha).
Seems like this activity make us cooperate more in this electronic workshop class and all those " senpai " are really friendly and helpful.*a special thanks to my senpai Adrian Jaloman because he really help me a lot".*
I share some picture about this multisim software:
This is multisim that we use in the workshop.
This is the example of project that can be done using Multisim software...
Another example of simulation that can be done using Multisim....
Let me tell u guys more precise about this multisim. Actually it is a software that build student expertise through practical application in designing, prototyping and testing electrical circuits. We can draw schematic pictures of an electric circuit and it is a real simulation of the real electric circuit. What great about this software is, it consist of every things that involve in placing electronic components n wiring of the electronic board. In more simple word, this is the "draft" for the real one, before we transfer this schematic picture to another software that is Ultiboard.
*En. Redzuan said that we will learn how to use ultiboard software next week, in the 2nd workshop.(really cant wait to study n learn about that software*
- Can we used random voltage, or different value of electronic component not according to the schematic draft in the question?
- How about when i used different size of electronic component in the simulation. Will it affect the result of the circuit?
- Cannot. For example, when we used different voltage, the circuit will not success as we plan, because the voltage supply may be in more than or less than what the circuit need. If we used LED to test this circuit, the LED will not light up for sure. That is the major reason why we should be precise and be very careful when signing the value of the electronic component.
- You can use different size as long as the value that assign to the electronic component is correct according to the question paper.
This is the simulation that i have done during the workshop and my LED light up,, so proud of it.
This is the question or draft of the task that is given to us. In the workshop on 2 oct, we only do the single sided PCB(Printed Circuit Board). The double sided PCB, i think we will do it in the next workshop class.
So, from my opinion, the most important things when we do this multisim task, we must be precise when assigning the value for the transistor, capacitor, resistor and other electronic component according to the data sheet that have been given. I want to stress again about this thing, because i try it myself already, whenever i change the value of the power source for example, my LED didn't light up. So guys, next time we must be precise and make sure to follow the particular data that have been given to us. I'm talking from my own experience, and i really a bit lost in the beginning(really frustrated at that time) and after try to understand more about the function of each icon in multisim, im able to finish the single sided PCB task, just like my other classmates. I think this is a very good start for an amateur like me..
Lastly, Mr. Redzuan said that we will continue about multisim and ultiboard in the next week workshop. With that, we finish our workshop for this week.
Hope i can post a better reflective journal next time.
Assalamualaikum and and good day to those who read my post. TQ.
to be continued.....
